Sun Printing With Setacolor

The conditions were right: no wind, sunny, fresh leaves falling fast.
It was the right time to sun-print.

I lay an old door on the grass and covered it with plastic.

I had a collection of leaves I had picked up on my morning walk.
Three Setacolor transparent greens were mixed and thinned with water.

I laid a wet bed sheet down on the plastic and painted it.

Next the leaves were placed on the wet paint....

...and left for the sun to do its work.

Name on the bed sheet.
I like to think Maude is happy with what has been done to her bed sheet.

MISSA Day 4

Another layer was added to our cloths by freely brushing on the back with paint

I added some dry brush strokes with a tree stump under the cloth

While drying in the sun my cloth attracts some comments

MISSA Day 2

We began day 2 by making different stamps and playing around with them.

The next step with our cloth was to establish territories on it.
I used my stamps to define the different areas of an abstracted face.

In the afternoon i sun-printed with ferns down the side.

At the end of the day i hung the cloth from a balcony so i could see all of it when i returned to the classroom the next morning.

Moon-Sun-Earth-Water

I received this wonderful image from my yoga teacher today.
Thank you for sharing, Livia.

It shows the sun setting over the North Pole when the moon is very close to the earth.
Beautiful.
