Loose Threads: Works In ProgressSome of the work we did during our month-long stay in The Banff Centre, as self-directed, Leighton Colony artists-in-residence.
The Hanging -Ingrid, Donna
ReBecca
Linda MacKay, who arrived the day before.
ReBecca's wall -silk fabric & threads dyed using a variety of dyes & techniques. The grey & the draped pieces are hand stitched.
Great to see some of the work you've all been doing. When does your residency finish? It will be strange back in the real world again I expect - Will you be going again? and is it something you would advise people to do?
Hi Chris, we check out & return to the world on 31st. I think it will take a few days to adjust. I haven't watched tv or read a newspaper for a month. We will be applying to go again in September 2011 to coincide with an exhibition of the work we will have in the town of Banff. Yes, yes, yes, all artists need regular residencies. So much growth takes place.
